Protecting COMMUNITIES through education and Collaboration.
The Data Impact Coalition was born from a grassroots movement.
In December 2025, everyday residents of Palm Beach County learned that a proposed hyperscale data center, Project Tango, was scheduled for approval on the County Commission’s consent agenda. That meant no public comment. No expert testimony. No public discussion.
Our community refused to let that happen.
Within days, neighbors who had never met each other organized. A petition calling for the item to be removed from the consent agenda spread rapidly. Then we showed up, hundreds strong, at the County Commission meeting.
And we kept showing up.
What united us wasn’t politics. It was purpose.
People from different backgrounds, professions, and political beliefs came together because we shared the same priorities: protecting our communities, our land, our water, and ensuring that decisions with lasting consequences are made transparently and with meaningful public participation.
Along the way, unlikely alliances formed. We listened to one another, challenged one another, and found common ground. That spirit of collaboration helped shape the outcome of the July Commission meeting and inspired something much bigger than a single issue.
The Data Impact Coalition is not anti-progress. We believe innovation and economic growth should never come at the expense of the people and places they affect.
We reject the idea that corporate influence or political power should outweigh the voices of the communities that must live with these decisions.
We also know our story is not unique.
Across the country, communities are facing similar challenges. If your community is asking the same questions, fighting for transparency, or working to protect what matters most, we invite you to join us.
Together, we can share knowledge, support one another, and ensure that progress is guided by people, not just by profit.
Because when ordinary people come together with a shared purpose, extraordinary things can happen.
